In an Attempt to Bond with the Kitchen

Food-Blogs and Fashion-blogs seem to rule the blogging circuit these days.In an attempt to take  baby steps in that direction and also to chronicle the genesis and advancement of my cooking skills i have decided to start posting on food-recipes as well. And why not since it mirrors a distinct side of me i have started to explore. i must confess that i had never been into cooking and this will be my first serious attempt at an entree. So after days of contemplating I decided to try my hand at Pasta in Bechamel Sauce .

  • Boil pasta with a pinch of salt and few drops of oil
  • For the White Sauce melt butter in a pan and gently toss shredded bell peppers
  • In a separate cup mix well milk and cornflour and add this mixture to the pan , stirring constantly
  • Now add your Pasta to the sauce and shred on top a generous amount of Parmesan
  • Add chopped Parsley
  • Add the required amount of Salt, Pepper and Nutmeg
  • Finally serve warm and add more shredded cheese for decoration

So here’s a few mistakes i had made : Put in too much nutmeg that made the smell overpowering.Must control that and do with a few pinches. Also boil the pasta for not more than 3 mins else it had become really soft and was a constant source of irritation once added to the sauce. Other than these i was really happy with my attempt. Must try same recipe with Oregano next time or maybe some other ingredients. ❤
